About the Centre for Coaching and associated Centres
The Centre for Coaching is an international training centre and consultancy established in 2001. It is a leading training provider of coaching, psychological coaching and coaching psychology programmes. As a coach training provider since 2001 it has trained 1000s of national and international Learners.
The Centre for Coaching has provided training for coaches, managers, trainers, psychologists, health and HR professionals from Europe to New Zealand. Its sister organisation, Centre for Stress Management, was established in 1987. The Centres form part of the International Academy for Professional Development Ltd (IAFPD), Centres of Expertise group.
OUR APPROACH
The Centre has pioneered the development of evidence based coaching since its inception. The main approach underpinned by research is Cognitive Behavioural and Solution Focused Coaching. We also offer rational and multimodal coaching. Our programmes are modular and involve distance and blended learning. Our Course Directors and trainers have published books and articles on coaching, coaching psychology and other relevant topics.
WE PROVIDE A RANGE OF APPROVED AND PROFESSIONAL BODY RECOGNISED TRAINING PROGRAMMES
Our Centre for Coaching, International Academy for Professional Development courses are run at the Centre or in-house include CPD Certificates and Diplomas in Coaching, Psychological Coaching, Coaching Psychology, and Stress Management & Performance Coaching. The Diplomas in Psychological Coaching and Coaching Psychology are at an advanced level. All the CPD programmes are modular allowing Learners to attend in 2 or 5-day blocks.
The Centre for Coaching and International Academy for Professional Development Ltd are Institute of Leadership IoL) Approved Centres and run IoL Approved Development Programmes in the fields of coaching and management development leading to IoL membership.
The Advanced Diploma in Coach Training is accredited by the Association for Coaching, a leading professional independent professional body. The Centre for Coaching is a founding member of the Association. Our Director, Professor Stephen Palmer was the first President of the Association and is an Honorary Fellow. In 2016 he was appointed Adjunct Professor of Coaching Psychology in the Coaching Psychology Research Unit, Department of Communication and Psychology, Aalborg University, Denmark, and in 2018 he became Professor of Practice at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
The programmes are also recognised for CPD purposes by the International Society for Coaching Psychology and the International Academy and Centre for Coaching are Approved Centres. The British Psychological Society approves our 2-day Primary and extended Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma courses for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
